Welcome to Chelsea Academy, whether you are a parent, student, prospective employee or member of the community. We hope the website helps you learn more about the Academy and all its achievements of which we are so proud.

It has been a privilege to be a part of the original team tasked with establishing an Outstanding school in London having the opportunity to create an exceptional learning environment with the highest standards and expectations from the very start. Our inspirational and committed staff along with our highly motivated students makes the Academy a vibrant and exciting place to be. As we enter this next phase of our journey we look forward to being able to continue to provide the very best for your child.

Our motto of work hard, be nice, no excuses permeates right through the Academy as we prepare students with a 21st century education whilst maintaining traditional values and expectations.

Chelsea Academy has places for 162 Year 7 students per year group and will grow each year until 2014. The Academy has received over 750 applications for Year 7 places commencing in September 2013. Our Sixth Form opened in September 2011 with 110 Year 12 students. We anticipate that the Sixth Form will have over 400 students by the time our own Key Stage 3 and 4 students have reached Sixth Form age. From September 2013 we will be increasing the number of students we admit into Year 7 to 180. This means the Academy’s roll will continue to grow slightly over the next few years.

The Academy has two sponsors, the Church of England (the London Diocesan Board for Schools) and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Their vision is for a school that serves its local community and has a distinctive Christian ethos. This is something that I share and endorse. Chelsea Academy combines traditional values and the highest standards with an innovative approach to learning and teaching. Students, teachers and associate staff work together to build a community based on mutual respect where students can flourish and develop the personal qualities they need for future success. We want to help develop young people who can make a valuable contribution to society.

We are proud of the high calibre of staff that we have recruited across the Academy - a mix of experienced and well-qualified teaching and associate staff know the students exceptionally well and recognise the diversity we have, the range of talents and different learning styles. This means that for students who are passionate about learning and determined to achieve within the context of a Christian community, Chelsea Academy represents an unrivalled opportunity.

We know how important the choice of secondary education is for you and that you are entrusting us with your child – I hope that this website will answer your questions and if you have any more then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Visitors to the Academy are always welcome and you can also find out more in the Academy prospectus. I look forward to welcoming your son or daughter to Chelsea Academy as well as you the parent / carer to our community.
