Gareth Jones
Gareth was born and brought up in Liverpool. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Modern History and Political Science. He completed his teacher training at the same university.
His first job was working for the Board of Education in a small town in rural Japan. He taught English to children of all ages and edited a newsletter for English teachers in the region.
He has taught in three different schools in London, including Chelsea Academy. Prior to his appointment as Faculty Leader for Humanities at Chelsea Academy, he was a Head of History and Deputy Head of Years 7 and 8. He was involved in the South West London Networked Learning Community’s action research project on various aspects of assessment for learning.
More recently, he worked with colleagues at SWELTEC, both as a mentor to a trainee teacher and as a presenter at their annual conference for trainee and qualified history teachers. |
