KS3 Science Fair 2016

The annual KS3 Science Fair took place over the last few weeks and as always it was a really positive and inspiring event. In science lessons, every Year 7 and Year 8 student had presented a science project that they had produced as Independent Learning. Their teachers then selected the best projects from each class to go through to the final. The KS3 Science Fair Final took place on Thursday 14th July and it was a wonderful showcase of our students’ enthusiasm and creativity in science. Twenty projects were on display and the students presented them brilliantly. The event was attended by parents, teachers, and other members of our Academy community. This year there was even a judging panel of six professional scientists and STEM Ambassadors, who agreed on the best projects in Year 7 and Year 8. In Year 7 this was Karim Elkhatib, who designed a circuit with a pressure switch to help prevent accidents in the home, and in Year 8 Martin Vukovic won with his bicyclepowered phone charger! Zoi Kampe also won the ‘most popular project’ award with her beetroot investigation. Well done to all of the finalists! all of them have won Vivos, points for their house and a rewards trip.
