Maths challenges

14 Nov Maths challenges

Maths students have competed in two different maths challenges lately . On Tuesday 8th, eighteen year 10, 12 and 13 students sat the UK Mathematical Trust Senior Maths Challenge. We now await results to find out who will receive Gold, Silver, Bronze, Best in School and Best in Year certificates.

On Wednesday 9th, a team of four students traveled to Pimlico Academy to compete in the Further Maths Support Programme’s Senior Team Challenge. The students worked exceptionally hard on some really difficult maths problems and placed 12th out of 18 London schools – not bad for our first attempt at the competition. There will be problem solving classes running after school from next week open to years 11, 12 and 13 so we can prepare for next years competition early (and with the added benefit of building skills for upcoming GCSE and A Level exams).
