Royal Society Science Matters – Climate Change Panel

17 Oct Royal Society Science Matters – Climate Change Panel

On Saturday 8th October, Mr Gilchrist and Mrs Holgate took 14 students from Yr 11-13 to Reading University for a Q&A event on climate change chaired by Professor Brian Cox. A panel with expertise drawn from a variety of disciplines, including geoengineering, biodiversity and the social sciences, took the audience’s questions on climate change, an issue that requires the collaboration of the scientific community, the public and governments across the world to face the challenges it presents. Our students were interested to see how the Science they are learning in school is related to the big questions currently facing scientists and policy makers. We were also very excited to bump into Prof. Cox after the event and managed to get a quick photo and his autograph for our LRC.
