Each week, all students in the Sixth Form attend a lecture. The aim of the lectures is to broaden students’ horizons and encourage them to engage with the wider world.

Lectures are usually delivered by outside speakers who are specialists in their fields. Past topics have included polar exploring, working for a charitable organization, public works of art and how they are commissioned and responding to disasters around the world. The Academy ensures that the lectures are informative and entertaining. They are a key part of the preparation we give to all post 16 students to ensure that they have a knowledge of global and local issues. This is really important for university applications and interviews. Careers, Religious Education and sex and relationship education are also covered throughout the year in the lecture series and in other curriculum areas.
