There was reassurance to be had travelling home from Barn Elm’s with the Year 7 Boys football team on Tuesday evening. They faced a very impressive Sports Independent School and finished the game with a loss.

In what was the first game they had ever played together it was clear to see that the boys possess some magnificent individual talent but most promising was the instant telepathy struck up between a host of our players.

The transition from defence to attack at times exampled speed, acceleration and positivity. The team used this to great effect and created many chances with clever passing and accurate shooting.

Defensively a strategic structure was in place and by the end of the game this was exampled in full flow with Harley and Cy containing the oppositions offensive play.

The start of a new legacy can bring its problems. Sport cultivates the mind to solve problems and the Year 7 Boys football team will definitely have the ability to mould into an exciting team to watch.

Well done to Cosmo, Azhar, Cy, Tyler, Arnold, Harley, Nasir, Noah, Romareo, Brendan, Wael, Ahmad, Melvyn and Mohamed!
