On 20th April, ten of our students who won the Chelsea Academy KS4 Science Project Competition attended the annual ‘Schools Science Conference’, where they participated in a range of activities run by professionals from a range of science specialisms. This included trying on the protective clothing used by doctors who treat Ebola patients, measuring ’emotional response’ in a psychiatry activity and lots more.
As part of the conference Chelsea Academy competed against other schools in a science project competition, and although we didn’t win, our Year 9s delivered a superb presentation of their project on ‘how music affects concentration’. Well done Sara and Anouk for representing the Academy so well. It was a brilliant day and the students came away with a better idea of how broad the opportunities in science really are.
