St George’s Medical Students

Aspiring medical students in year 12 were excited to have students from St George’s University that are studying for a degree in Medicine or Biomedical Sciences, visit their enrichment ‘Getting Into Medicine’ last week. The university students provided a session on radiotherapy and how different techniques can be used to diagnose patients when they enter A & E. Chelsea Academy students were then able to read information from a case study and work together to decide the radiotherapy used to determine the problems of each patient. The year 12 students are now more aware of how multi-disciplinary teams work together in the NHS and have learnt more about the demanding nature of A & E.
